Soft-Boiled Eggs

Eggs are both delicious and extremely basic. The possibilities are nearly endless
-- from scrambled to fried to soft boiled. To make the perfect soft-boiled eggs, follow these simple steps.

1. Boil a pan of water and drop in the egg. Do not place the egg in the pan while bringing the water to a boil, or it will be overcooked.
2. Cook the egg for about three minutes. A larger egg may need a little more time.
3. Hold the egg and tap around the center with a knife, and then gently pull the shell apart. You can use a small spoon or serve the egg with strips of toasted bread for dipping.
