Custom Candy Container

Take holiday photo cards to the next level: Paste an image on a small container and fill it with candy bearing personalized holiday greetings. (We had the same smiling faces that grace the box's cover printed on the candy inside.)

Materials

  • Small box
  • Red nontoxic acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Pencil
  • Card stock
  • Scalloping shears
  • Photograph
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Glassine
  • Candy

Steps

  1. Step 1

Coat a small box, outside and in, with red nontoxic acrylic paint; let dry. Trace the box top onto card stock.

  2. Step 2

Draw a circle about 1/2 inch larger around the traced circle; cut out with scalloping shears. Repeat to make a second circle.

  3. Step 3

Print or photocopy a photograph, adjusting the color, if desired. Trace the box top onto the picture; cut out. Use craft glue to affix the photo to one of the scalloped red circles; let dry.

  4. Step 4

Affix that circle to the top of the box and the other circle to the bottom using craft glue. Line bottom of the box with glassine. Fill with candy.

These look like great presents, that I would love to give but unfortunately I cannot order them as I am living in the UK and they do not ship overseas! I may still make the boxes though!

In fact, looking to the right of my screen, there is a pop up for the very thing of which we speak!

I made something very similar to this for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner last year!! I took circular metal containers and put their engagement photo in the lid which I cut with a circular craft punch. I ordered the personalized M
