Polka-Dot Decor and Favors

Martha Stewart Kids, Volume 11 2004

A baby shower with polka dots as the theme guarantees plenty of fun to go around. And a simple graphic theme makes it easy to coordinate decor, favors, and food.

Make the party's invitations of construction paper sprinkled with stickers and tucked into CD envelopes. Prepare a compilation of songs for each guest with popular lullabies or songs with the word "baby".

Guests will leave with "pop" star worthy goody bags made of shimmery bubble wrap and packed with all the dots you could need. The foil-coated padded envelopes are quickly transformed into purses -- just punch two holes at either end of each opening and tie on polka-dot ribbons for handles. Fill each purse with candy dots, gum balls, or other round candies, rubber balls, yo-yos, pots of lip gloss, or any other round object.

Print out ready-made bingo cards and then devise a shower game around the mother-to-be.
