Owl Invitations

Frightening fetes call for equally spirited invitations. This Halloween, tempt nocturnal visitors with a menacing wide-eyed owl. The creatures have movable body parts, attached with miniature brads, which make them compact to send and spook-tacular to receive.

Pair these with our Skeleton Invitations.

  1. Step 1

    Get the Owl Template.

  2. Step 2

Color-photocopy templates at 125 percent (or download images and print) onto white heavyweight matte paper. Cut out parts with scissors. (For thicker invitations, affix copies to black card stock with spray adhesive, then cut out parts.)

  3. Step 3

At joints, make holes using a microhole punch. Secure wings behind body with black miniature brads.

  4. Step 4

Write details using a pen. Fold in parts; enclose card in an A6 envelope.

I just sent about fifteen of these out. They turned out nicely. I did replace my ink and they looked great.

These are best cut out with deckle scissors in order to get the wavy effect. Also, because the black background is so solid, it prints out with a bit of a stripe (I even changed my printer ink and it STILL did this). The best way to remedy this is to cover the black areas with black glitter glue (using a brush), which also gives the invite a sparkly, comehither look.-
