Suede-Fringed Throw

Blueprint, 2006

All you need to make these throws is about 2 yards of your fabric wool or wool/cashmere fabric and enough premade fringe (see source below) to sew across the width of the fabric twice. Most wool fabric is about 58" inches wide, so you would need about 4 yards of the fringe.

We hemmed the edges of our wool and then attached the fringe, so if you can sew a straight line, you can make these throws. (By the way, Martha told Fashion Editor Katie Hatch that they reminded her of the ones Hermes makes.)

Resource: Frinezza fringe in stone, gray, and yellow, $43 per yard, Shindo, 212-868-9311

Clever! Imagine it on velvet lined with crepe. A little more work, but so worth it. You could even use stamped or burn-out velvet adequately lined.

I bet flannel would work nicely too.

Where can you by the cashmere or wool/cashmere fabric? None of the stores in my town sell cashmere. Sahara

These would be nice to make, but on my income I couldn't afford the wool, so I would use other fabric to make these. These woluld make good gifts.
