Flowers for Easter

The Martha Stewart Show, April 2009

Martha was joined by Kevin Sharkey, Martha Stewart Living editorial director of decorating, to make lovely flower arrangements for Easter using the Martha Stewart Easter Basket from Martha Stewart at 1-800-Flowers.

The Martha Stewart Easter Basket consists of a woven ceramic basket filled with stems of lavender alstromeria and purple waxflower. Woven baskets in reed and willow often do not hold up through years of use. That's why this favored flower basket is crafted in ceramic and is glazed in a sweet pastel-yellow to beautifully complement many types of flowers.

Martha and Kevin used some floral clay and a pin frog to keep their flowers in place while making the arrangements. Martha used daffodils and ladies mantle in her arrangement. Kevin used French tulips, coup tulips, standard tulips, and scented geranium leaves in his arrangement. To keep your Easter flowers fresh, be sure to change the water daily and keep them out of direct sun.
