Cardboard Oven Craft How-To
1. Turn box on its side so that the lid opens like the door of an oven.
2. Cut a 13-inch square piece of cardboard and glue to the back of the oven with hot glue. Cut a 6 1/2-by-9 1/2-inch hole in the box lid to create the oven-door window.
3. Add adhesive foam dots to the front corners of the box, leaving the paper backing on the exposed side.
4. Punch holes in the cardboard back for dials.
5. Spray paint entire oven and door with desired color. Allow oven to dry.
6. Spray paint condiment-cup lids silver, and bottle caps the same color as the oven. Print label template on label paper; cut out knob labels and stick to bottle caps.
7. Attach silver dials to range with paper fasteners. Hot glue bottle caps to lids, covering the fasteners.
8. With a black permanent marker, draw concentric circular lines (burner coils) on the shiny side of CDs.
9. Hot glue CD "burners" to the oven stove top.
10. Cut a 9 1/2-by-12 1/2-inch rectangle from cardboard and spray paint silver. Allow to dry. Draw lines along the length, 1 inch apart, with a ruler and permanent black marker.
11. Fasten a sheet protector to inside of oven door with double-sided tape (artwork inserted into sheet protector will show through oven window).
12. Cut a piece from the long side of a plastic clothes hanger, and spray paint silver. Allow paint to dry; adhere hanger piece to the top of the oven door with hot glue to create the oven door handle.
13. Add a battery-powered light to the inside of the oven, if desired.

The template download link is not working? Does anybody have the template that can send to me at wwhhll@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.
Can't find box with attached lid unless you want to buy them in lots of 25. Any ideas?
How do we watch Part 2? I wanted to know how to make the accessories that are showing on the stove. Can anyone help
TIA
I wish someone would come up with a way to reuse all of the plastic shopping bags one gets.
You are recycling an old file box and the bottle caps, etc. So that is what is "green" about it for Earth Day.
That's what I thought too -- what a disappointment! And the purpose of "crafting" a cardboard box oven for Earth Day is what????
And I thought Martha was going to show us the Boy Scott cardboard oven that really works!
@at826: After Part 1 plays, Part 2 should start automatically after you wait a few seconds
When I watched the show last Wed., I was in awe as a cardboard box was transformed into a range with turning dials and interchangeable pictures of food to peer at through the oven's window. I wasted no time ordering Cheryl's kit which I rec'd in record time. I know that I would still be gathering the supplies if I had not chosen to purchase the kit. Now I can sit back and admire it! ~Adrienne Here's a pic: http://www.whiteleycreek.com/queen_of_the_meadow_bloom/2009/02/cardboard...
Your cousin Nolan told me you were on the show! Great Job! I was on the show back in December.
Best regards,

cute project!!
how come when i play the "part 2" of this project. it leads me back to "part 1"? help please! i would love to finish watching it!
This is an awesome project and a great artist! I love the idea and the imagination. I especially like the coloring book insert that look like cookies baking in the oven. Brilliant! I definitely will be visiting this website...can't wait to try the project. I am looking for just the right box!
Wonderful!! I'm ready for a whole new kitchen. Thanks
I love these darling pieces! Today's show was especially great because, in this economy crunch, we really would be smart to find alternative ways to entertain our children without giving in to the glitz of so many bought (and generally disgarded) toys. Kudos to the designers of these inovative ideas! Kai
This is my favorite craft from the show since those beautiful teacup pincushions. It reminds me of the minature kitchen set that my father made for me out of apple crates
Inspiring! Anything made out of boxed or into boxes I love. Couldn't a refrigerator be made also? I enjoy all your paper craft type ideas. Thanks.
This is totally awesome and so creative. Thanks

I love this idea is there a way to see the video.
