Grandmultip - what a wonderful idea! I'm sure the nursing home residents were equally delighted. These could also be used at different times, using the appropriate seasonal theme.

I made 30 of these (both designs) last night to take to a nursing home today. I printed them out on 8-1/2 X 11 copy paper and found you have to be more precise in the folding, etc. since they're smaller. I used wooden coffee stirrers for handles and they're perfect! Also, I snipped in between the outer edges to allow more "give" in making a complete circle and it looks like it's part of the design. These are spectacular stuck in floral foam in a red enameled tub!

I just made these and I have to say they turned out great. I did not bother to enlarge it as I am decorating a cake with them. I did notice that another poster said that they did not line up well. That happened to me as well. If after you staple fold the fan it half so the ends line up and then snip them all together at an angle that really seemed to help. What a fun little project. Happy 4th!

For the instructions, click on the words "stars and stripes fan template" just above the photo of the fans. A pdf will open and the instructions are on the left of the image. The second template is only the template, but uses the same instructions.

I too have been trying to locate the instructions for the Patriotic Fans. It may be taht they are self evident - however, always nice to have them spelled out, so you do not have to fumble around awhile. Are these archived somewhere on the site? Thanks.

I have been looking for the instructions for these for days. They are not accessible. Can you webmasters fix this so I can make them. Thanks.

I am also looking for the other template as I am going to try and make them now.

I spent $14 to have these reproduced at 120% enlarged at Staples and after accordion folding the paper, they are difficult to turn into a circle as shown. Anyone else having problems making the ends meet on both sides.

Angelwings55, you can now find the second template on the article above. Enjoy!

I notice in the photo that there are two different styles but only one template. How is this achieved?
