Small-scale bouquets have a big effect -- and they can be made using bits left over from large arrangements. Displaying them in unexpected containers adds to the charm.

Gravy boats, sugar bowls, and creamers all serve as surprisingly pretty vases. 1. Recycle greens that were used outdoors or in an indoor arrangement; recut stems and remove any leaves that were submerged. You can also cut fresh branches from your yard or get holiday remnants from a garden center.

2. For wide-mouthed containers such as teacups, use floral adhesive to attach a small metal floral frog to hold stems in place. Change the water every other day.
