Spring Makeup Tips

The Martha Stewart Show, March 2007

For an instant look-lifter, "plump" skin with hydrating creams: Layer skin-care formulas (a wet, hydrating cream under a rich, dense balm) to give skin a plump, cushioned look. Use the warmth of your fingers to blend the creams.

"Brighten" with an under-eye concealer: Lighten the area and draw your attention up with a pink- or peach-tone corrective concealer paired with a yellow-tone concealer. Be sure to apply the concealer close to the lashes and to the inner corner of the eye.

"Pop" with blush high on cheeks: Dust blush high on the apples of your cheeks

"Define" eyes with liner: When lining eyes, extend the liner ever so slightly at the other corner of the eye. Make sure the liner is thick enough and visible when your eyes are open.

"Finish" lips with a high-shine gloss: After applying lipstick and pencil, layer a light shake of light-reflecting, high-shine lip gloss on top.
