Suede iPod Case

This is a great project for an ultrasuede scrap and after you've made one, you may find yourself making them for all of your friends.

  • 9-by-3 5/8-inch piece of fabric
  • Mini scissors
  • Erasable fabric marker
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread

  1. Step 1

Print the pattern (for 30GB and 60GB models); cut out rectangle and circle.

  2. Step 2

Use this pattern for the Nano model.

  3. Step 3

Pin onto the fabric, and trace openings with the marking pen (to get a perfectly smooth circle, trace a spool of thread); cut out.

  4. Step 4

Fold fabric in half end to end, pin and sew, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.

You could also just photocopy your mp3: instant pattern!

You can measure any MP3 player for the size and cut out the screen and the player buttons to make one that is custome for any MP3. I had planned on doing this for my kids MP3's for months and I am going to sit down with them this weekend and they can help me make these for them. It's a great project with kids!

Could you add a pattern for the new smaller Nano? Thanks for the great idea!
