The next time you expect friends, showcase your bounty indoors with a sculptural display.
Pick heirloom tomatoes, eggplants, summer squashes, and assorted peppers, plus thyme, basil, and oregano. We arranged the vegetables in two shallow wooden trays around the herbs in small, water-filled glasses. Use rosemary stems and olive branches to fill in the gaps. Then enjoy the fruits of your labor again with meals prepared from the nourishing tableau, which will last several days.
