Power screwdriver
Four casters and screws
Mobile Storage Table How-To
1. Paint the basket and lid.
2. Position two 1-by-2s, cut 2 inches shorter than basket's length, inside basket, 1 inch from each side. Align with second pair -- cut the same length, mitered at a 45-degree angle, and painted -- placed on the underside. From inside basket, join three layers with wood screws.
3. Screw casters to supports on bottom of basket. If you plan to put heavy books or plants on top of the lid, it's a good idea to insert a strong plastic- or wooden-lidded box inside the basket, flush with the rim, for additional support.

I love this idea. I have a large basket that looks just like this one. My Mother use to keep all of my toys in it when I was a child (I'm 58 now). I had no idea how to use it other than to store stuff in it in the basement. Thanks so much for the idea.
This idea also works very well on a laundry basket or hamper to make it easier to move around to the laundry room or to put the clean washing away...just add a liner to the hamper to keep the clothes from being snagged..or lay a towel in the bottom
Use two pieces of 3/8" or thicker plywood instead of 1x2. Adjust length of screws. Adds rigidity to base and distributes weight of load better. Miter or round edges.
This is an excellent Idea! I just removed casters from a storage organizer that now sits on a shelf. Now to find an appropriate basket and make it match my craft room.
