Four Homemade Trees: Cotton Balls

With a few bags of cotton balls you can blanket a tree with the softest snow.

  • Needle
  • Fishing line
  • Cotton balls
  • White glue
  • Sieve
  • Cornstarch
  • Batting

  1. Step 1

Thread a needle with fifteen inches of fishing line.

  2. Step 2

Sew through two or three cotton balls, leaving gaps between. Dab white glue next to each so it won't slide.

  3. Step 3

    Make loop for hanging.

  4. Step 4

Use a sieve to add a dusting of cornstarch over the branches.

  5. Step 5

    Cut batting for a skirt.

I love the idea of a white christmas tree! In addition to the cottonball snow, I'm going to put white lights and silver icicles on the branches. For the top, I'll make a big paper snowflake doily.
