Introduction

For this log, chocolate cake is rolled with pistachio ice cream, clad in chocolate, and frozen. A wood-graining tool covered in melted white chocolate created the "knots" in the surface. Chocolate leaves are the soul of simplicity: Melted chocolate is painted onto real leaves, allowed to set, and peeled off, leaving the leaf's veining rendered in chocolate.
