Good grief, Martha. Have you ever really folded a king size sheet. I am sure you have your people do this for you.

I have been soing this for years. LOVE IT!!!!! So glad you put easy to understand directions up, now I won't have to have "clinics" on sheet folding! Thanks Martha!

OMG! I was in HEAVEN when I found this technique, absolutely wonderful!!!!

My way is similar. Insert the bottom corners into the top corners. Flip one set of corners into the other. Lay on a flat surface with fitted corners at the top and straighten. Fold into thirds, top edge down then bottom edge up. Fold in half twice. You are left with a square shape. In addition. I fold the flat sheet top to bottom, then side to side twice. Lay flat and fold in half. Lay fitted sheet on one end with folded pillow cases. Fold flat sheet over all and you have a full set together.

It's much easier to take step one, holding two corners in each hand, inside out, then find the bottom two corners, with your hands still in the first two corners, grab the bottom two corners and flip them inside each other. Now you'll be holding the sheet, your hands will be visible (not covered in fabric) as if the sheet was folded in half, then, take the corners in your right hand and flip them over the corners in your left hand. Then it's much easier to then pick up at step four.

All -- I too was lost on this one, even after watching Martha Stewart actually fold the sheet on the Oprah show. My sheet still looked "eh". It is much easier to follow along with, I think, and my sheet looks WAY better than "eh" -- it looks like a folded flat sheet!!

Tweak - steps 2 and 3 can be confusing. Replace them with : Use your uncovered hand to do the same thing with the other 2 corners, closest corner first. Then put the tips of your hands together and transfer all sheets to either hand. Continue with step 4.

She needs to post a video for this. I get it with all the corners, but then I end up with a cone shape with the elastic at the top. For that last corner, I think it's throwing me off. Should the rest of the sheet get sort of flipped as well? I guess either way it made it neater in my closet, but not quite right.

Hands down the best way to fold a fitted sheet. Is it sad I tried two other popular methods? I prefer this way b/c I can do most of it standing up instead of using a large flat surface the entire time. My sheets are king and I make a square (one extra fold) so it fits nicely in its place. Athene21s tweak is good!

Take that hanging corner and slip it over your left hand without turning it right way out. This way, it stays inside out. Then take the remaining corner and put it over your left hand, this time turning it right way out. Hope this helps.

I too have been unable to do this. I have followed the directions exactly and it still comes out in a big mess.

This method has been used for my queen sheets for the past years as well. Recently I've even been able to persuade computer geek friends to adopt it via logical assertion! It's the Good Thing I bless each time I wash my bed linen as it neatens up my shelves so beautifully. =)

Great tip! Been doing it this way for ages - works on my King size sheets as well! Very simple, saves space in the linen closet too. :-)

Funny, I had no problem at all following these instructions for my queensize sheets. They sure look nice in the linen cupboard all that same size. I printed out the info and taped it to the linen closet door!

This isn't foolproof at all, it did not work for me no matter how hard I tried. Maybe it works on SMALL sheets, but not a big queen-sized one. Thanks a heap Martha, these instructions STINK.

You should see my husband do this. He was the one who originally showed me how, but he's still faster than I am. Zip, zip, zip...and he has the perfectly folded fitted sheet.

I cannot believe how well this actually worked...and how easy it was!
