Looking for something to do with your leftover yarn? Try creating these versatile cards.

Tools and Materials
Template for cupcakebaby carriagebranches, deer, or mushroom
Light-colored card stock
Printer
Craft glue with fine-tip applicator bottle
Yarn
Small, sharp scissors
Press cloth
Iron
Glue stick or double-sided adhesive (such as Xyron permanent adhesive)
Double-sided tape
Standard 5-by-7 or 5 1/2-by-8 1/2-inch blank folded card

Card How-To
1. Download and print desired design template (cupcakebaby carriagebranchesdeer, ormushroom) on card stock.

2. Apply craft glue from a fine-tipped applicator bottle along the lines of the drawing. Carefully place the yarn on the glue and clip to size with sharp scissors. To make dots, tie a double or triple knot in yarn and clip tails; glue in place. Let dry.

3. If card stock is warped when dry, place a press cloth over the card and press with a warm, dry iron. Mount the decorated card stock onto a second piece of card stock with a glue stick or double-sided adhesive to completely flatten. Place double-sided tape on the back of the mounted design and adhere to the front of a standard blank folded card.

I cut pictures off pieces of fabric - apply iron-on stablizer and iron on to the card stock ... put velium or plain white paper on the inside - Viola "blank cards" ... sell at the church boutique for charity donation ... and they are unusual ...

Why couldn't a person use a crewel needle and just stitch the designs? Maybe add a vellum cover on the backside of the stitches. Seems easier than messy glue.
