Herb Garden Kit How-To
1. Place sterile soil seed-starting mix in a sealed plastic bag. Gather burlap around plastic bag and secure with a rubber band. Add a raffia tie around the rubber band.
2. Download, print, and cut the copper plant-tag template. Place a copper tag on cork board and affix the tag template over it with double-sided tape. Using a push pin, pierce through the marked dots on the template into the copper plant tag.
3. Print the herb-garden instructions on heavy card stock and cut out.
4. Assemble the herb garden elements in a terra-cotta pot: add herb garden instructions, seed-starting mix, copper plant tags, herb seed packets, osmocote plant food, gloves, shovel, Japanese floral shears, watering can, and garden stones.

Looks like the last time this was offered was a year ago. You can download the same font shown on the instructions from http://www.fontspace.com/category/dot matrix. If you google dot matrix font you will get several different sites that have suitable fonts. I really like this idea, it is a great spring craft.
I love this idea! Can anyone tell me where you find the Osmocote plant food?
google dot matrix font. you can download the font for free.
Thanks for the tip on buying the copper tags at Home Depot. I plan to make my tags today so I didn't want to wait to receive an online order.
I agree..I would love to have templates for vegetables as well. I am going to try to make them myself but I know they won't be as perfect without a template.
I found copper tags made by Burpee at Home Depot.
ooops.... I meant Vegtable Templates
Go to Target. 5 in a bag for $1. Just did mine. Wish Martha would have included Vegetable temples. Enjoy.
the copper tags are under "garden supplies" in the Jamali website.
I couldn't find the copper plant tags at Jamali Garden's website. While I was at Target today I found some. I came home home and made my own version of a herb garden with the copper tags for my mom
Where do we get the copper plant tags? I LOVE this idea for my herb garden! Thanks!
