  • Serving bowl
  • Plastic wrap
  • Tall vase
  • Floral adhesive
  • Blocks of floral foam, cut to fit bowl and soaked in water for 20 to 30 minutes
  • Lilacs (or other flowers)

  1. Step 1

    Line bowl with plastic wrap.

  2. Step 2

Place floral adhesive on underside of vase. Set vase in bowl.

  3. Step 3

Fill bowl with soaked floral foam. Arrange lilac stems in foam.

  4. Step 4

Add water to vase, and fill with more lilacs.

This is spectacular! I adore the billowing effect of the lilacs, not to mention their glorious color. A quick question however: Is it appropriate to use fragrant flowers at a dinner table? i wonder of the delicious smell will affect the taste of food. Despite a possible negative answer to that question, I plan to use this lavish looking plan with other ingredients. This would work for wine tastings, other affairs where seats nearby are not necessary. Thank you!!
