Castin' Craft 3-by-3-inch reusable resin mold
Mold-release spray
Card stock
Decorative paper
Clover craft punch
Ladybug craft punch
EasyCast clear casting epoxy resin
Plastic resin mixing cup
Wooden skewers
Glitter
Fine-grit sandpaper

Clover Coasters How-To
1. Prepare coaster-mold container with mold release spray and set aside to dry.

2. Punch clovers from card stock, and punch ladybugs from decorative paper.

3. Mix resin in a plastic cup according to resin package directions. Pour resin into prepared mold to a depth of about a quarter inch.

4. Arrange punched shapes in resin; adjust using wooden skewers.

5. Let resin set for at least an hour. Pour a second layer of resin, add glitter, and stir to combine.

6. Allow the entire coaster to cure for 24 hours. Remove coaster from mold.

7. Sand edges if there are any raised areas. Back with adhesive felt or cork that's cut to the size of the coaster.

Also thought I'd mention that if you're embedding paper into your resin design, make sure you seal it with glue like ModPodge

Hai, guys. I just thought I'd mention that the resin WON'T completely harden in an hour as stated in the vid. Resin without colorant will harden in something like 12 hours though I usually leave mine overnight. Now, if you add colorant, it could take a little longer, especially depending on how much you use and, trust me, a little of the Castin' Craft colorant goes a LONG way.

EasyCast epoxy resin does NOT need to be used outdoors! It is very LOW odor, non flammable and is popular because it's so consumer friendly. Outdoors isn't recommended as bugs and dust can collect in your project. Marthat Stewart uses EasyCast because it is safe and easy for crafters to use!

They forgot to mention to do this outside or in a very well ventilated area. Resin has very strong fumes!

Martha- On your show today, 03-10-09, you made resin 'shamrock' coasters. You referred to the four-leaf clover as a shamrock. To be more accurate, the three-leaf clover is a shamrock. You might want to make this correction to the audience. And, do you make a punch that has three-leaves?

Probably a skewer into it before hardening? That is my guess. Anyone else?
