Pumpkin Creatures: Porcupines

Introduction

Use big pumpkins for the porcupines' bodies, and attach the heads with toothpicks. To create quills, push white holiday lights through drilled holes that are slightly smaller than the lights.

I have done this (not porcupines) rinse cut pumpkins in a bleach water solution, they will last a lot longer and not get moldy so fast.

Look for gourds with porcupine-like "noses" and attach with toothpicks. I picked out some pumpkins with nice long stems to look like tails! Can't wait to take my power tools to my pumpkins and try this out tonight!

so I tried to do this pumpkin...I tested the lights first then it took me 2 hours and 15 minutes non-stop. Plugged the lights in- and it did not light up. I would recommend letting the pumpkin dry before you put the lights in- and also have the lights plugged in as you are poking them through the holes. Good luck!
