Introduction

This mat was created by taping together several smaller stone mats, available at garden centers.

materials

  • Stone mats

  • Clear duct tape

  • Twill tape, 1 3/4 inches wide and as long as the perimeter of your mat plus 4 inches

  • Fabric glue

  • Needle and thread (optional)

steps

  1. Turn the mats upside down, and place them next to one another on a work surface to create a mat of the desired size. Use the duct tape to secure the interior edges.

  2. Lay twill tape on an exterior edge of mat, leaving an inch of overhang along entire side. Use duct tape to secure. Fold corner for a mitered edge, and continue to next side. Repeat. Secure corners with fabric glue or a blind stitch.
