Family Workspace

Martha Stewart Kids, Volume 5 2002

A well-lit corner of the kitchen becomes a workstation for the entire family. In this central location, a child can study or work on the computer with a bit of supervision and guidance when needed, since his parents are often nearby, preparing dinner or cleaning up. A linen-covered bulletin board holds a calendar displaying everyone's schedule -- making it easy to see when parents have meetings or children have lessons or sports practice, and whether a family member has reserved the computer.
