Seed-Packet Ornaments

We turned vintage seed packets into blip art you can download; print on card stock, and cut out with scissors. You'll need two per ornament.

  • White card stock
  • Scissors
  • Small paintbrush
  • Craft glue
  • Plastic spoon
  • Clear glass glitter
  • Glitter powder in various colors
  • Raffia fringe
  • Twine

  1. Step 1

Brush template borders with glue, spoon on glass glitter, and pour off excess; accent vegetables with glitter powder the same way. Let dry.

  2. Step 2

Glue fringe to back; glue ends of a length of twine to back edges. Glue the other template back-to-back with first; let dry. Flatten inside a heavy book overnight.

We decided to take this idea a step further for a small gift idea for neighbors and friends that drop in over the holidays. We used real seed packets that we found in various stores with nice artwork depicting the seeds they contained and decorated them (carefully so not to damage the seeds) and hung them on a small tree by our front door (inside) and invited visitors to take a packet of the seeds they prefer. Its nice to know that we may have added to next year's garden
