Cocktail-Glass Flowers

Martha explains how to make cocktail-glass flowers for embellishing stemware that's sure to be a hit at your next dinner party.

  1. Step 1

Download the template and print several times on different colors of card stock.

  2. Step 2

Cut out the cocktail-glass flowers from each piece of card stock. Cut a slit on the dotted line, and cut out the hole in the center of each.

  3. Step 3

Place the paper flowers around the stem of the glass, overlapping them slightly at the slit, and securing with double-sided tape. Use a small flower on the top and a large flower (of a different color) on the bottom.

  4. Step 4

To create a green stem, which will hold the paper petals in place, turn the glass over so that the flowers fall against the cup of the glass. Wrap some plastic raffia several times around the stem of the glass, and knot tightly to secure.

If you laminate, or cover each single flower "petal" with contact paper, they will stay clean, and you can reuse! Also could adapt for other seasons/holidays, etc. Think of the possibilities!

I help with wine tastings in Michigan I am going to make these for the glasses for the people to write the names of the wines they enjoy. Many times people ask if I have some paper so they can make notes. What a pritty way to promote Michigan wines.

you could also use SCRABOOK STAMPS to quickly stamp out your templates FROM all types of all of the beautiful papers that are available. Use any shape of stamps and stamp cutters that fit your party theme (i'm not a scrapbooker so i don't know the correct terminology for the tools), but you get the concept i'm going for. i think i'll even go purchase some really great stamper-cutters"! and i've got tons of beautiful papers to use - have fun!
