Fancy Eggs: An Excellent Variety

Martha Stewart Living, April 2001

Gold cord and imitation pearls suggest Faberge-era luxury.

An egg swirled in pearls sits on a button base.

For this trellis design, glue pearls on top of latticed thread.

A velvet-trimmed egg props up a gold-embossed paper bird.

Another trellis design requires gluing twelve strands of thread to top of egg, then threading a pearl on two strands at a time; glue each pearl as you go, keeping spacing even.

An egg within an egg sits on a tiny pillow.

A painted egg is home to an Easter rabbit.

A paper butterfly floats from a wire attached to a pearl glued inside the bottom of a plain white egg.
