Spring Arrangement with Emily

Introduction

Emily Weaver, owner of Chestnuts in the Tuileries in New York City, is known for creating magnificent floral displays that are beautiful and unexpected. Here, she constructs a striking arrangement, featuring a monochromatic color scheme of peach tulips, hyacinths, and ranunculuses. Inspired by the technique of hand-tying flowers, Emily uses clear elastic bands to bind the stems together, although you can also use other materials, such as raffia. When completed, the arrangement creates an optical illusion. Says Emily, "As you look through the vase, you'll see only the streamline of three stems, but the vase is actually full of blooms."
