Hi everyone!!! I am from Brazil and did this place card to my place's Christmas dinner and it was a success!!! I just put some glue glitter on the top of each star, to became more like our summer brazilian Christmas! Cheers!

Cute idea, one I will use again. I liked the suggestion by Cleonice_lee to use yellow paper so that the star would be yellow on both sides. I will print some that way also. Thanks so much for all of the ideas, as I am a sewer/crafter who loves to do but doesn't have many original ideas ... THANKS!

I printed the template onto cardstock and it turned out great. I would suggest that you make all of the folds FIRST, as when you cut it out, you lose the arrows. My frined is also having her grandaughters make these for their Christmas dinner.

Yes ! loved it - I actually just printed the entire page on a yellow paper - so that the star can be yellow on both sides - and the green turns out fine :)

I just finished making one of these and it came out so cute!
You can also trace the pattern on to your own printed paper and decorate with gems, glitter or anything that sparkles. You don't have to use them as place settings, just put them on a table, for decoration.

michelleheiei - you download the template and print it using a printer, then all the patterns print out. Paste it onto cardstock and then cut it out. If you use heavier weight computer paper you won't even need to paste it onto cardstock. Just print 6 or 8 or however many you need. Print just the star onto double sided yellow paper or print twice as many so you can paste on both sides of the cards. Then, voila - you have your name cards.

This may seem like a silly question but do you need a lot of different patterned paper or was the card stock already patterned like that?

I found this worked up best with regular computer paper but I did make the star out of yellow cardstock so it was yellow on both sides. Cute idea! IThis placecard will make my Christmas table very festive!

I used double-sided matte photo paper (less-expensive, like Staples brand). It worked perfectly, except my trees weren't keeping their shape, so I put a little dab of glue inside a few of the folds.

What kind of paper is everyone using? Card stock?

rossmoor, you do not need to do anything about the magnification. The PDF file will print them out at the right size.

What magnification did you use to get the right size tree?

I have used these place cards for the last two Christmases and they are a hit. Thank you for the great ideas.
