Party Centerpieces How-To
1. Choose a cake stand to serves as the base of your arrangement. Soak a brick of floral foam in water for a few minutes, remove from water, and use the floral knife to carve the brick into a bullet shape; the carved floral foam should measure around 5 inches wide and 5 inches tall.

2. Cut stems of partially opened roses to a length of 3 inches. Insert the stems into the floral foam starting at the base and working upwards in circles so the flower heads cover the foam. Set the arrangement on the cake stand.
