Feather-Printed Stationery Craft

Wispy feather prints add a touch of elegance to this homemade stationery.

Materials

  • Small feather
  • Inkpad
  • Scrap paper
  • Brayer
  • Tweezers
  • Blank stationery card
  • Letter stamps

Steps

  1. Step 1

Place a small feather face down on inkpad. Place a small piece of scrap paper over feather. Roll over the pad and feather with a brayer, gently pressing down, evenly inking the entire feather.

  2. Step 2

Carefully lift paper and pick up the feather by the calamus (shaft) with a pair of tweezers. Lay feather facedown on card. Cover with a clean piece of scrap paper, and roll with brayer to print, being careful not to move feather. Lift paper and carefully remover feather with tweezers.

  3. Step 3

Stamp words, name, or monogram underneath feather.

I make so many of Martha's crafts and so often I need to print out the instructions. However, many of them are not set up to be printed. If I hit print, I end up with pages of comments ,ads, etc. This is a big waste of ink which is expensive. I very often write the instructions by hand. PLEASE HELP!
