Considering Color: Greens and Blues

A Mix of Modern Greens and Blues A two-color palette feels fresh and fashionable when bold greens meet pale blues. Against the snowy tablecloth, chairs, and cushions, sculptural pottery vessels concentrate the vivid colors down the center of the table. Minimal arrangements of white mini carnations, hydrangea, agapanthis, chrysanthemums, liseanthus, and tulips fill some vases; others are left empty.
A wrapped favor nestles inside a porcelain bowl set out for the first course. An apple-green place card has emerald-green calligraphy.
Classic Style in Cool Hues A pale-blue tablecloth and apple-green cushions help the same palette convey a more traditional mood. A white footed bowl holds an arrangement evocative of shade gardens, with tweedia, hydrangea, ornamental green dates, maidenhair ferns, nigella, chinaberries, mint, and gomphrena.
Gentle touches of green decorate each place. A white napkin is tied with striped green ribbon threaded through a tore-bought rommeted tag with a pocket. We turned it into a place card, the name written in apple green, and tucked a menu card inside.
