Protect your party clothes while serving guests or whipping up last-minute treats -- without donning an outfit-obscuring coverall. Tie on a lightweight, color-coordinated bandanna apron. It's easy to make: Begin with a standard-size bandanna (about 22 inches square); pin twill tape along one hem, allowing enough overhang on both sides to tie around your waist. Machine-stitch top and bottom edge of twill tape to bandanna.
I use bandanas for re-useable napkins so having an apron to match is great!
When I was young (50 years ago) my Mom made me "blouses" out of bandanas. Just two top seams and 2 side seams. Little girls can have dresses made the same except a tie at the top.
These are easy enough - If you have several moms help then you could have a girls baking day and give each girl a choice of color bandanna. The girls can pin the twill tape along. Then while they pick out the recipts they want to do a mother could sew these in time for each girl to enjoy while baking.
