Easter Place Cards

Add an especially festive touch to your Easter table with whimsical place cards bearing chick, bunny, or lamb designs. They are simple to make, requiring little more than our templates and a few common pantry items.

  • Scissors

  • Card stock

  • Pencil

  • Craft glue, such as Sobo

  • Tweezers

  • Yellow cornmeal

  • Black lentils

  • Orange lentils

  • White cornmeal

  • Red food coloring (optional)

  • Panko Japanese breadcrumbs

  • Oats

  • Fennel seeds, dried parsley, or dried rosemary


  1. Download and cut out the animal templates. Fold a piece of card stock in half, and trace a template onto one of the halves.

  2. Cover the animal's outline with glue, and attach desired foodstuffs. When placing items such as eyes or a beak, it's a good idea to use tweezers. Create the chick by using yellow cornmeal for the body, a half of a split black lentil for an eye, and a piece of orange lentil for the beak. Fill in the bunny's outline with white cornmeal, and use a black lentil for an eye; you can also mix a drop or two of red food coloring with the cornmeal to create the pink interior of the bunny's ears. For the lamb, fill in the body with panko breadcrumbs; use a black lentil for the eye, an oat for the ear, and a half of an oat cut lengthwise for each foot.


    To simulate grass, add some glue to the bottom of the place card, and covering with fennel seeds, dried parsley, or dried rosemary.
