Project

Personalized Bookplate Craft

Introduction

Romantic novels, plays, and poetry books are lovely gifts for February 14. Make them even more meaningful with personalized bookplates, inscriptions pasted inside a book to identify its owner.

Favorite Books for Giving: "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen (Everyman's Library), "The Complete Pelican Shakespeare" (Penguin Classic), "Poems by John Keats" (Everyman's Library).

Materials

  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Adheisve office label

Steps

  1. Step 1

We used stamps mounted on clear acrylic (michaels.com) for easy inking and positioning. Just ink the stamp, and then press it face-down onto an adhesive office label (avery.com).

  2. Step 2

Write a note, and peel and stick the label to the inside cover of a book. Bookplates also make delightful presents on their own.
