The Container Store sells precut, pre-sticky strips of foam sized perfectly for your existing hangers for about $2. I believe there were enough in the package to do 24 hangers. They work great.

Foolsgal, go to and search huggable hangers. You should easily link to the information you seek.. I just buy white with blue slip guard hangers at Wal-Mart. You'll know them when you see them. They come in a four pack. The hook swivels which makes it easy to hang something over a door or from a door frame for drying appropriate delicates. They're economical, too.

Great idea! A good rainy day project in front of the TV with a good movie. I have issue with garments sliding off. Question for 'kewi', the previous commentor - What are huggable hangers and where do you find them?

I use "Huggable Hangers" by Joy Mangano. They save space and my clothes donn n n t fall off. I like things very simple. Donn n n t think I would take the time to do this.
