This beautiful feather tree is both a lovely Christmas decoration for the home and a wonderful Handmade Holiday gift. The tree can be left plain or you can add a small tree topper such as the glittered star we used.
Feather Christmas Tree
The Martha Stewart Show, December 2008

these are so great ..Very easy to make...Great Center pieces..Just white or in colors.. just Love making them for my family christmas get togather
You can pick up a mini hot glue gun at walmart for $2.00 and it works great. I love the idea of putting the at each end of your entertainment center I'm definitely going to try it, hopefully mine come out as pretty as the picture
can this be made without using a hot glue gun as I don't have one?
I made these 2 years ago--got the idea out a book at the supermarket. I did mine in green feathers but didn't put any topper on them. They came out so pretty and I made two of them that I put on either side of my entertainment center every year. They are pretty fast

I tried making these trees with my granddaughter. She gave up after about six feathers. I got two rows and quite for the night. We had such a mess. Feathers all over the places and us. I got the feathers at Michael's. I could not get the feather to feather out and up. Does anyone know how to shape the feathers? The bags the feathers had info on the back of the bag but all I could get the feathers to do way curve sideways. Help, this is very upsetting.

I got my white feather at Michaels. My feathers are straight they don't flare out. The directions on the package suggests that you take a knife to curl feather. I was not able to curl the feathers. Any suggestions?? Thanks

Is there a way to add some glitter to the feathers without makeing them heavy? Could you use a spray glue and a fine dust of glitter???? I am so excited to make this project. I see these tress every where and I just know I can make them myself cheaper and of my own design....

I found a picture of the feather tree! If you go to google, and click on images and type in "martha stewart Holiday Feather Trees" on the second page it shows the trees in 3 different colors and then you can open it and maxamize the size. Hope it helps everyone!

I found the white feathers at Michael's craft store, they were in the same aisle as the kids feathers. They have an assortment of different colored feathers, but also have packages of just white feathers. The feathers are pretty cheap as well and come in different sizes in each. I agree with being able to view a picture of the completed tree would be ever so helpful.

Yes, I totally agree. I would love to see a picture of the feather tree.
It is so much easier to make something if you know what it looks
like or have a picture to reference.

May we get an image of the feather tree to look at while attempting to make it?
