Removing Pet Hair
Martha teaches a helpful Good Thing for removing pet hair from upholstery and gives a sneak peek at what is coming up on the show.
Pet hair on furniture, especially on upholstery, is a big pet peeve of many pet owners. Here's a Good Thing from Martha's "Homekeeping Handbook" to remove pet hair. Purchase a dry sponge at a pet-supply store. (They cost under $10.) Using the dry sponge, lightly wipe dog hair in a sweeping motion from upholstery. When using, make sure the sponge is dry. When you clean the sponge after use, wash with soap and water, and let it dry. You can also use a damp rag to pick up the hair. Make sure to ring out water from rag before using to prevent the upholstery from getting wet.

yes, I use the rubber gloves for removing dog hair, works very well.
lightly dampened (very lightly dampened -- just not bone-dry) rubber dishwashing gloves pick up pet hair even more effectively, and can be easier on the hands for anyone with arthritis (as there's no gripping like there is with the sponges).
