Stand-Up Figure Cards

Introduction

Trees fashioned from colored and textured papers are adorned with sequins and glitter.

Materials

  • Sequins
  • Glitter
  • Colored and textured paper
  • Utility knife
  • Glue
  • Card templates

Steps

  1. Step 1

Fold card in half horizontally; use a utility knife and a straightedge to make narrow pairs of slits perpendicular to the fold and about 1/8 inch apart. Vary the lengths of the slits so that trees will be staggered, not in a straight line.

  2. Step 2

Push the tabs from behind, and crease in the middle.

  3. Step 3

Trace templates onto paper, and cut out. Decorate these shapes, and glue to the tabs. Glue into a larger prefolded backing.

I love this idea!! It's so simple and crafty. Thanks Martha for just making everything that much easier. I am definitely making these cards.

This is my plan for cards this year. This will be my first all-homemade Christmas! I'm excited to get these adorable cards in the mail!

Quantoot: At the end, the instructions specify that once the standup shapes are attached to the cutout tabs, the (inner) card should be affixed inside another, prefolded backing (of your choosing). Sounds cute to me. :)
