Introduction

What's more, as Martha and her young friend Lauren demonstrate, the technique is easy, requiring only a pair of plastic or cloth sandals, a few basic supplies, and the embellishments of your choice.

materials

  • Flip flop

  • Tape measure

  • Ribbon

  • Scissors

  • Fabri-Tac

  • Double-stick tape

steps

  1. To make, measure each side of the flip-flop or sandal, using a tape measure (the outer side may be a bit longer).

  2. Cut the ribbon to these dimensions, making sure to cut on an angle to custom-fit the strap (you may also want to use Fray-Check to protect the ends.)

  3. Using Fabri-Tac, glue the trim onto the straps as desired. Then, using double-stick tape, lay out your button design, and secure the buttons with Fabri-Tac.
