Blueprint, 2006
A bright color is a modern tweak to the tweedy college professor's elbow patch--all you need is a scrap.
Tools and Materials
Fabric scrap
Micropunch (at craft stores)
Needle and embroidery floss or craft thread
Patch How-To
1. Print this pattern; cut out; pin onto fabric.
2. Cut out, and punch holes around edge, 1/4 inch apart and 1/4 inch from the edge. Try on sweater, and pin patch in place. ("You want to see exactly where your elbow is," Katie says. "It's oddly not very easy to just eyeball it.")
3. Hand-sew in place through holes.

Thanks for the great advice on completing the elbow patch, the touch of bright color is actually really appealing and I did not expect that. The picture is really helpful and provides a memorable example. http://www.coolrelief.net/shoulder_ice_wraps.html
That's cute; sort of reminds me of the time I repaired my <a href="http://www.audrasoutletworld.com/shopsite">portable ice maker</a>. It was tough but well worth it.
