Introduction

Iron our vintage shell designs onto your light-colored linens; we've provided an entire beach pail's worth of shells -- from a striped pink bubble shell to a spiraling zebra auger -- for you to choose from.

materials

  • Heat-transfer paper

  • Scissors

  • Iron

  • Pillowcase

  • Napkins

steps

  1. Download and print the templates onto heat-transfer paper, available at office-supply stores.

  2. Cut out an image, leaving a 1/16-inch border. On a hard, smooth heat-safe surface protected by a pillowcase, iron the shell transfer, right side down, on a napkin, following paper manufacturer's instructions. Turn the napkin over while still warm, and rub your thumb over the back of the pattern to loosen.

  3. Let cool, and peel off paper's backing. Seashells will appear as mirror images. Wash napkins according to paper manufacturer's instructions.
