Fireplace Sachets

These easy-to-make sacks can be burned in the fireplace, where their contents' natural fragrances will be released.


  • Brown paper
  • Dried orange peel
  • Cloves
  • Cinnamon
  • Star anise
  • Rosemary
  • Pinecones
  • Baking twine
  • Tag


  1. Step 1

    Start with an 8-inch or 12-inch square of brown paper. Fill with dried orange peel and cloves; cinnamon and star anise; or rosemary and pinecones.

  2. Step 2

    Make a pouch; tie with baking twine.

  3. Step 3

    Add a tag to write a note or the pouch's contents.
