Ice-Crystal Garland

Snowflakes dance in front of a mirror, where their reflection doubles the show.
Martha Stewart Living, December 2002

A mantel or window is also a good place to display this garland. The number of flakes required depends on the dimensions; we used 23 -- crocheting them is a pleasant group project.

Ice-Crystal Garland How-To

Lay out a row of starched and blocked flakes, alternating patterns. Use a needle and white thread to sew them together, end to end. Loop the thread through the end holes four or five times. Hang your string of snowflakes with map tacks.
