Stepladder Bed Stand

Martha Stewart Living, Special Issue Fall 2007

Take advantage of every bit of bedroom space by stacking your nighttime necessities instead of crowding them on top of a tiny stand. The four wide rungs of an extra stepladder provide a steady spot for a row of books as well as the necessary alarm clock and a reading lamp.

It would work real well in a guest room.

I agree with most everyone here. In concept it seems like a great idea but it could be very dangerous if you have kids.

Yes I do agree this in particular looks dangerous. But how ironic I have one that has 3 steps only and I am using this idea next to my couch in my living room.use the top sep for coasters for drinks, second step my sons books, the third step could be anything at all. But be smart about no glass, nicnacs etc...

I would certainly prefer a nice bedside table or cabinet. This
one looks dangerous in several ways. It takes up too much
    space besides.

I agree, accident waiting to happen.......also, I don't have any, but, small children in the house could really have free for all with this. I couldn't see this as a bedside addition, maybe in a den, or library.

Absolutely *adorable* this idea...will use it when redecorating the bedroom!

I have not found an old wooden stepladder yet, however, I did find a short wooden new one. I painted it and added some decorative accents and placed it in my reading space. Works very nicely with my shabby chic....

Might be cute with a smaller ladder that was painted. Otherwise, it kind of looks as if you didn't put everything away when you finished painting! ;)

    Definitely an antique stepladder!

  • talklikelovers 19 Nov, 2008

Yeah, but no one has a stepladder that nice.
