Bald Eagle Tissue Paper Lanterns

Introduction

Upside-down honeycomb bells become bodies for bald eagles, and looped wings and a drawn head give this flier flourish.

Materials

  • Heavyweight paper
  • Westminster bells, 9 inches, by Party Cheap
  • Scissors
  • Spray adhesive
  • Double-sided tape
  • Hot glue and hot-glue gun
  • Twine or monofilament

Steps

  1. Step 1

Choose the blue or red eagle clip art, and print -- both sides of the head and 2 copies of each wing -- onto heavyweight paper. Set your printer's margins to zero (or as narrow as possible). For a 9-inch bell, choose the small eagle clip art. Print the wing pieces (2 per sheet) twice, and head pieces (2 per sheet) once. For an 11-inch bell, choose the medium eagle clip art. Print each wing piece (1 per sheet) twice and each head piece (1 per sheet) once.Cut out pieces; using spray adhesive, glue heads and wings in pairs, back to back, to make double-sided.

  2. Step 2

Open bell, and secure it with double-sided tape. Attach 1 wing with hot glue, pressing the tabs between layers of tissue, below. Repeat with second wing. Hot-glue the head in place, pressing it into the layers of tissue at the rounded center of the bell.

  3. Step 3

Punch a small hole in top of head, and hang with twine or monofilament.

    HELP
I do so much like all your ideas and suggestions, but I have a problem, I don't have PDF and for some reason my couputer will not let me install it. Is there another way that you can display the templets, so that I can at least COPY and PASTE the templets and other things. I'm sure that I'm not the only one with this problem. Please HELP us who follow you.
    Thanks, Jeanne K.
