Moon How-To
To make Saturn or a comet, simply substitute those shapes. Draw a half-moon onto corrugated cardboard with a circle in the center the size of child's face; cut out with a utility knife.
Prime and paint cardboard with acrylic paint. Add dot stickers and glitter. Fold a 1-inch strip of felt around inner opening; glue. Trim outer edge with yellow masking tape. Punch holes on either side of opening just above child's ears; tie on elastic, adjusting to fit.

This idea is a cute one! I would make it out of fabric just so they can be passed down to siblings and cousins over the years. I realize this adds a lot of time to making the costume, but if you make one as original and clever as this one, then make it last for more then 1 child's use. Last year we did "Monster" costumes out of hooded sweaters (from a thrift store)that we will use over and over !!

Suggestion: Cut double stars out of scrap booking paper. You could even include a moon and planets. Hot glue a black pipe cleaner to the back of one cutout, and glue the other to hide it. Twist the other end to a halo done of triple pipe cleaners (measure around head). Bend the stars up or down after you set on head. Secure to head with bobby pins.
You might need to double the pipe cleaners if the stars are heavy. Hope this helps.
The Stars are my favorite too! I can see making this a few different ways...An obvious way - make ring out of wire to place on head, cover w/navy blue/black ribbon for comfort. Then, take floral wire & glue it between two star shapes cut out of card stock paper, paint or glitter stars, then wrap to headpiece. If you have enough and at various heights, it would fill in beautifully! Or you could make a cap out of smooth styrofoam, paint it & stick star sprigs in place. I did this and it's AWESOME!
Even a year later, I would like the same as the others - STARS, please
I was just thinking the SAME thing!!!! I want to make the stars!!! :) pweeeze
I want to make the stars but no directions! That is very disappointing!
