Introduction
Create this glittering decoration by trimming a noble fir wreath with silvery ornaments and sprigs of seeded eucalyptus. (We used approximately 100 ornaments of varying sizes.) Materials
- 24-inch-diameter noble fir wreath
- 2-inch wired silver-ball ornaments
- 1 1/4-inch wired silver-ball ornaments
- 1-inch wired silver-ball ornaments
- 3/4-inch wired silver-ball ornaments
- 1/2-inch wired silver-ball ornaments
- Wired floral picks
- Seeded eucalyptus sprigs
Steps

Step 1 of 4
Align each ornament's wire with 1 floral pick. Wrap pick wire around both to secure. Attach each eucalyptus sprig to a pick, using the same process.

Step 2 of 4
Insert largest ornaments at top of wreath. Add other ornaments, varying sizes and positions as desired, using smaller ornaments down wreath sides; reserve the tiniest ornaments to dot around wreath bottom once other ornaments are inserted.

Insert eucalyptus sprigs around ornaments, using leafier stems and fuller bud sprigs at wreath top, tapering fullness of additions as you work down wreath sides.

Step 4 of 4Add tiniest ornaments and a few remaining individual eucalyptus leaves wired to picks to bottom of wreath.

This wreath couldn't be easier, belindavstan. You buy the base wreath already made, then wire on pieces of real or fake eucalyptus. I would skip the floral pick step and just wire the ornaments onto the branches of the base wreath. It looks like they used about 6 of the largest ornaments, then something like 8, 16, 32, and 40 in decending sizes. Just concentrate most of the larger ones near the top and cascade down getting smaller and smaller. Also mix some of the smaller on top and all around.
I make eucalyptus wreaths each year by gathering the leaves and wiring them on to a wire wreath. You can make it as full as you want. Some of the branches can go all the way around the wired wreath. I usually spray it with floral spray ...gold one year, silver the next, or use whatever color you feel like. By spraying, it doesn't turn brown when it dries o ut. i live in southern CA, so it still can get quite warm in December
