Project

Wine Bottle Label

Materials

  • Design and print wine bottle label (approximately 2 3/4" wide by 5 3/4" high)
  • Wine bottle
  • Bowl of warm water
  • Razor blade
  • Goo Gone
  • Heavyweight paper
  • Scissors
  • Permanent adhesive cartridge or double-sided tape
  • Xyron machine

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Design and print wine bottle label (approximately 2 3/4" wide by 5 3/4" high).

  2. Step 2

    Remove label of wine bottle; soak in warm water, scrape with razor blade, and clean up with Goo Gone.

  3. Step 3

    Print template on heavyweight paper.

  4. Step 4

    Cut out on the outside of the black line.

  5. Step 5

    Run through Xyron machine with permanent adhesive cartridge and stick to bottle or use double-sided tape and attach to bottle

    hmckay (responding to comment below) - There are a wide variety of standard label size that you can purchase. Buying the right size will save time on trimming down the labels. The company I work for is constantly adding new recommended wine bottle sizes. You can check out the most popular wine bottle label sizes at www.onlinelabels.com/wine-bottle-labels.aspx.

    The only problem I had was that 7" was a little too tall for most of my bottles. I just trimmed off 1/2" from the top and bottom of the labels after they were printed. Easy fix!

    If you buy the labels online (the company used at the above link was really great), you can download a word template and design your own labels. I'm making a "Mr. and Mrs." one for the sweetheart table.
