Organizing Kids' Toys

Martha Stewart Living Television

Keeping track of children's toys is easier when you help them do it themselves. Labeling drawers is an organized approach, but some children may not be able to read; for your youngest housekeeping assistants, consider making a set of picture labels for bins, boxes, and drawers. Divide toys into logical categories, from building blocks to dolls, and find an image that suits each. Enlarge or shrink the image as desired with a photocopier, and laminate each label, either with a laminating machine or with self-laminating sheets. Affix the labels to each bin or drawer with a cut-to-fit piece of double-sided adhesive.
