Basic Epsom salts give blue candles an icy charm. Finish the scene with pinecones and bits of winter greenery.
Tools and Materials
- Rimmed baking sheet or tray
- Epsom salts
- Small paintbrush
- 3-by-3-inch pillar candles, in Honeydew Quince (No. 31010019CUC), and 3-by-6-inch (No. 31010023CUC), from Restoration Hardware, 800-910-9836.
- Mod Podge gloss, from Michaels, 800-642-4235.
- Passi-flora fabric, white on blue (No. 2050/02), from Chelsea Editions, 212-758-0005 (to the trade only).
Candle How-To
1. Fill a rimmed baking sheet or tray with Epsom salts. Coat the entire outside surface of a pillar candle with Mod Podge glue, then roll the coated candle in the salts until fully covered.
2. Set aside to dry (allow several hours), and repeat with remaining candles.

Ladies - I think the fabric mentioned in the supply list is the tablecloth. Its pretty confusing why they would put it in there. Maybe it has to be credited some way but thats my best guess.
I agree with Cherimalleis, What do you need the fabric for. I love the idea and any color of candel would be great for all seasons
I'm not understanding what you do with the passi-flora fabric, is there something I missed from the instructions? Otherwise I love the idea, the candles look so refreshing.
